Health and well-being event at the heart of Longbridge

Hearts will be racing in Longbridge town centre on Saturday 20th May, when visitors can take part in a free health and well-being event.

St. Modwen, owner and manager of the town centre and community group Friends of Longbridge Open Spaces (FLOS) have teamed up with Urban Fitness gym, based at Bournville College, to bring an afternoon of fitness sessions, for all ages and abilities.

Urban Fitness instructors will be on hand outside Marks & Spencer in Longbridge, running free 15-minute classes including boxercise, spinning, HIIT and kettlebells from 11am-1pm.

USN (Ultimate Sports Nutrition), also based at Longbridge, will be there, handing out free sample products.

Andrea Clarke, Property Manager for St. Modwen said: “The Urban Fitness gym facility at Bournville College is a fantastic asset to Longbridge and this event will help promote health and wellbeing in the community.”

Helen Denby-Knight, FLOS co-ordinator, added: “This is the first fitness event we’ve organised in Longbridge town centre and hope it will be a great success.”

The fitness classes are free, but donations to Barnardo’s will be welcomed.
