In September 2011 Bournville College unveiled its £66 million, state of the art campus at Longbridge, comprising a 250,000 sq ft new learning facility, located at the gateway to Longbridge town centre.
With capacity for 15,000 students, Bournville College offers a modern learning environment with high quality student and visitor-led facilities. The college offers courses for school leavers, adults, employers and international students, with qualifications including A Levels, BTECs, NVQs, apprenticeships, higher education and bespoke training for businesses.
The new campus features state-of-the-art facilities, including Apple Mac suites, motor vehicle maintenance workshops, music studios, training kitchens, over 1000 computers and a 3D cinema room, plus a conference centre for 200 delegates.
‘The Street’ links the Learning Resource Centre with the main building and features a refectory with a ‘Zest’ cafe, Go! Deli bar and a Starbucks. The Street also incorporates Urban Flavours, which is open to the general public and offers a more formal dining experience.
The new campus also offers commercial facilities which are available to the general public, including Urban Elegance hair salon, Urban Serenity beauty salon, and Urban Fitness – a fitness centre with 70 stations and a sports hall suitable for basketball, netball, badminton and five a-side football – plus The Garage @ Bournville College, which specialises in car and motorbike servicing, repairs and MOTs.
