As part of the £1 billion regeneration of Longbridge, a number of additional residential developments are being planned, all of which will provide a variety of high-quality attractive homes.
Work is underway on a new 180 residential building for military staff working at Birmingham’s Royal Centre for Defence Medicine (RCDM) at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Edgbaston. Due to complete in 2017, it will provide 180 en-suite bedrooms and an all-ranks mess facility, bar area, gym, office and guards site.
Construction is almost complete on high-quality new affordable apartments, which are being delivered by Waterloo Housing.
Planning consent has been granted for 95 new homes at the junction between Groveley Lane and Lowhill Lane.
Outline planning consent has also been secured for 215 homes on land south of the town centre and adjacent to Longbridge Village, the new ExtraCare development. The housing scheme will be made up of apartments and a mix of family homes in a landscaped setting, and a detailed planning application will be submitted later this year.
